I hope the concept is simple enough. Veteran A has a set of skills or knowledge that Veteran B needs, sadly Veteran B has never met Veteran A so hires a CSB (civi scum bag) and gets taken for a bit of ride and gets sold stuff and services he/she doesn’t actually need.
Hopefully, we can create a place, be it a Facebook group, a website or something similar that provides a connection between Veteran A and B.
I’m obviously not saying that we should never hire a CSB, but if we were able to provide Veteran B with some background information or some pointers about what kind of service they should expect and a rough cost then all power to us.
What Can You Do To Help?
We’ll need as many A & B Veterans as we can get to make it a useful resource. Inviting Veterans that are experts in their field and equally (or maybe even more important) inviting Veterans that are about to transition to Civi street and may need some advice from an existing Veteran.
Who Makes The Tea & Toast?
The last thing I want to do is create additional work for busy people so I think if we modelled the meeting/conversation on a 30-minute NAFFI break, Tea & Toast type affair I don’t think it would be too much of an ask.
What Do You Think?
This is day one week one so feel free to chip in with ideas.
